New cafe alert!
If the name sounds familiar, you probably know the muffin man.
Do you know the muffin man?
Who lives on Drury Lane?
Sorry. Had to.
This is what I had – the Potato Leek Baked Eggs ($8)
They have bacon, sausage and smoked salmon alternatives going for $10. I’d really recommend this dish cos it’s pretty unique to Drury Lane and though it doesn’t look like much, it really is the sort of dish you’d eat on a rainy day. Or as comfort food. It’s sort of like potato and leek slices, topped with 2 eggs, baked in tomato sauce… my mouth waters just thinking about it.
Other stuff on the menu that sounded great:
Sandwiches ($7) – Steak & Cheese, Chicken Avocado, Smoked Salmon
Marmite with Cheese infused Soldiers (toast & 2 half boiled eggs) ($7)
All day breakkie sets going for $10-12
I’d definitely visit again. Coffee ($3.50 – $5.50) is not too bad too; custom blend from Toby’s.
In a nutshell, Drury Lane’s setup might look a tad bare and makeshift but they make up for it through their food and coffee that’s reasonably priced. I like that it’s hassle and fuss free.
P.S. Eat upstairs, it’s more spacious.
P.P.S There’s free wifi.
P.P.P.S Disclaimer; this is my friend’s place, but I paid for my food.
