Read about this place on 8 days and thought it was pretty interesting! You’ll see why. It’s not your average ice cream place.
Must admit, I judged the sign on the shop’s exterior… a tad too tacky for me.
Guess the place is very catered to kids – but that doesn’t stop adults from going in too!
Some of the “normal” flavours available for takeaway in tubs.
This place has like, 40 flavours for you to choose from, ranging from the standard vanillas and chocolates, oreos and marshmallows, to alcoholic stuff (tequila, baileys, rum, gin…) and experimental stuff like garlic, blue cheese, caramelized onion???
So you choose what you want – and from observation, people can take quite a long time due to the huge variety available. Someone at the counter will mix everything up in a blender and then liquid nitrogen is poured in to freeze it (don’t worry you won’t ingest any – it all evaporates.)
Check out the cool smokey spectacle! Great for the kids. And. Yeah. Anyone.
The result is great ice cream that’s much smoother in texture, with no flavourings (natural or artificial), no preservatives, no emulsifiers or stabilizers and are low in sugar.
Here’s what we had: (prices hover around $5 a cup)
Dark Chocolate & Blue Cheese (yes, real chunks of blue cheese .)
Christmas Horlicks (horlicks + oreos + honeycomb)
Mango + Tequila (mango flavour totally overpowered the tequila – don’t order this!)
And wash it all down with a Bundaberg!
Would totally come back! Love the texture of the ice cream and the fact that you can go crazy with the flavours + try different pairings cos I love experimenting! I also like that it’s fully customisable. If you walk in with a diabetic, someone who’s lactose intolerant, someone on a diet and/or someone who’s allergic to something – there’d still be something for everyone.
Want to try their take on salted caramel. I hear it tastes great with tequila 😉
