Suddenly, unwanted memories come rushing back. Things i have tried to bury with time. Like an unexpected surprise – a bad one at that.

I try to stuff them back in the recesses of my mind once again.

People are sometimes so sick and ugly it scares me.

HenHen & KenKen Can.

Had din with the Cambodia folks. BTW Nina and I felt damn extra in Cambodia because the 2 boys have known each other since like forever, and behave like an old married couple.

Fun fact: I didn’t do his face justice but one of them is infamous for being the best looking PE teacher in a certain JC.

What was for dinner? Sashimi ($3 for 5pcs) & stuff at Standing Sushi Bar, then dessert at Nana’s Green Tea :) :)

In conclusion;

I love that clothes0verbros has EVERYTHING… it’s like a walk in closet with all that you need, plus they’re all going for reasonable prices. Subscribe to their FB for latest updates though, cos things sell out pretty fast!

Picked a few of my faves, most of them are sold out but b/os are available.

Cardis…

Avril Pocket Hearts Cardi, $27

Bridget Pullover in Oatmeal, $24

Blazers… (in various colours!)

Veronica Blazer in Sky Blue, $24.90

Tops…

Kyrie Gradient Tier Top, $23

Adrea Bird Print Blouse, $24.90

Shoes…

Kavanagh Heels (Navy), $28

Grizelda Weaved Sandals in Timberwolf, $26

Necklaces…

Mirabelle Sculpted Necklace, $14

If you’re too lazy to match, they even have the whole shabang matched for you – necklace ($14), top ($19) and pants ($24)

Kimberley (the owner) was also very kind to send me 2 items,

Sonenclar Penny Loafers, $28.90

Didn’t know if sizing ran true, got it in my size (37) but I found it a LITTLE bit tight. Might be better to go a size up! Otherwise it’s a great pair of walking shoes – not stiff at all (the problem that irks me with a lot of cheaper loafers). I like the colour a lot! She has them in many other colours too.

Bianca Feather Top, $19

Love this piece! The multicoloured feathers make for easy pairing and a fun top. It’s also lightweight but not sheer – perfect for SG’s crazy weather… aaaand they match my loafers. heh.

Head over to clothes0verbros nowww – they have lots more, from tops to pants to dresses to jumpers to shorts to clutches to heels… I don’t like to think too much about my clothes and that’s why I really like the stuff that Kimberley curates. Every piece looks good and yet is easy to mix and match.

Btw Kim is migrating to another site – you can check out the newer collections at http://www.clothesoverbros.sg/, but backorders on all the stuff at the livejournal page are still ongoing!

Field notes from S21 Prison, Phnom Penh, Cambodia

S21 Prison. Not sure what to make of it.

For something so rich in history, nothing has been documented well. The exhibition doesn’t do much justice to painting the real scenes of torture and pain prisoners here had to go through. It definitely doesn’t do their bravery justice.

There’s a wall where you have tonnes of photos of anonymous faces staring back at you. There are empty cells of wood and brick and vacant, rusty bed frames. The only stories presented are factual records from prisoners who wouldn’t have dared to speak the truth about injustice.

Don’t think we will every know what exactly happened here or why. I don’t think any of them understood either. All we know is people were treated with cruelty, suffered a lot, and many died for no apparent reason.

The Khmer Rouge needed confessions, took innocent people, and tortured them to force them to “confess” – even if they weren’t guilty at all.

Standing in one of those cells, I thought, if I were one of them, I’d probably given up on life and on hope.

The atmosphere is somewhat peaceful though.
